PROVIDENCE, R.I. (June 11, 2020) – Women’s Fund of Rhode Island (WFRI), a leader in the movement to improve policies that impact women and girls in Rhode Island, has rescheduled the virtual 100 Men for Gender Equity fundraising launch party to Thursday, June 25, from 5:30 pm -6:45 pm. The decision was made to stand in solidarity with racial justice organizations.

This virtual launch party is the kick-off event of the campaign commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment (allowing some women the right to vote). The new date for the event also ties in with Father’s Day, when we celebrate the men who make a positive difference in our lives.

The event will include a virtual happy hour featuring music, a DIY male ally tutorial, and speakers such as: Providence Mayor, Jorge Elorza; Women’s Fund of Rhode Island’s Executive Director, Kelly Nevins; and Women’s Fund of Rhode Island board member, Kevin Matta.

Industrious Spirit Company has also created a specialty drink and recipe for the event called “Parity Punch,” which will be available for pick up after an online preorder.

This event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, but was rescheduled to show support and solidarity for our community members fighting racial injustice. Women’s Fund of Rhode Island stands with Black Lives Matter and supports the peaceful protests taking place in Providence, RI.

While this event is free and open to the public, registration is required. Tickets are available here https://events.eventzilla.net/e/100-men-fundraiser-launch-party-2138751177
