Providence, RI (October 24, 2016) – Steve Tetzner, President of Homestar Mortgage in Providence, RI has been unanimously appointed for a two-year term to the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center’s Board of Directors. Nominated by a previous director, Tetzner will sit on the Fundraising Committee.

The Elizabeth Buffum Chace (EBC) Center was founded in 1979 to address the need for local services for battered women. Since that time, the agency has grown from a safe shelter to also include court advocacy, counseling, support groups, housing and other services that are so necessary for victims and their children who are leaving an abusive situation. The EBC Center works with over 3,000 individuals each year in 15 cities and towns throughout Central RI.

Judith Earle, Executive Director of the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center is pleased to welcome Tetzner to the Board, stating: “Steve Tetzner has supported the agency for many years and is an ideal candidate to come onto the board, where his interests and expertise will be invaluable in helping to keep the agency viable and focused on its mission to end interpersonal violence. We look forward to working with Steve for many years to come.”

The Board of Directors plays an integral role in helping victims to attain healthy and productive lives by supporting the fundraising events, helping to shape policy and guide the direction of the services, sharing and distributing information about the issue and our resources within their own circles and, in general, acting as informed stewards of the organization.
