RIMI will offer three advanced 3T MRI’s across Rhode Island

PAWTUCKET, RI  (May 28, 2014)– Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI) broke ground earlier this week on renovating an existing suite at the Blackstone Valley Medical Building to house the newest generation of MRI, the 3T MRI.

As the state’s largest private diagnostic radiology practice, RIMI soon will be providing patients access to three out-patient 3 Tesla MRI’s in Rhode Island. Two additional 3T MRI’s are located at RIMI’s East Greenwich and East Providence locations.

The 3T MRI system provides the highest resolution images for more accurate interpretations and has a larger opening for greater patient comfort. In addition, most exams are completed faster than on a conventional or “open” MRI scanner.  An entertainment center also allows patients to watch a movie or listen to music during their MRI exam.

RIMI’s renovation project in Pawtucket also includes the installation of a new 16 slice CT scanner, as well as complete interior renovations for a newly improved diagnostic imaging center to serve physicians and patients of Pawtucket.

“RIMI is absolutely committed to providing its patients with the latest available technology. Our recent distinction as one of the first diagnostic imaging Centers of Excellence in the country is a testament to this commitment,” comments Dr. John Pezzullo, president of Rhode Island Medical Imaging.
