East Providence, RI – (August 7, 2013)
Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI) was recognized with a Worksite Health Award in the Exemplary category. Annually, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) together with the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) presents the Worksite Health Awards to area businesses that offer programming to encourage employees to be healthier.
“On behalf of the entire team at RIMI, from physicians to technicians to administrative staff, we are proud to accept this honor,” said Susan Logan, Benefits Specialist at RIMI who was on-hand to accept the award. “Each day, we work hard to ensure that the health and wellness of our patients is handled with compassion and professionalism. We believe that same dedication to good health should be exemplified in our workplace and we are pleased to be recognized for our efforts,” she concluded.
BCBSRI and the GPCC distributed Worksite Health Awards to 75 deserving Rhode Island companies at a breakfast ceremony where several hundred members of the business community gathered to celebrate their collective efforts. The event was designed specifically to pay tribute to the Rhode Island companies and their employees who have demonstrated an understanding of the value of health and fitness through the creation and implementation of worksite wellness programs.
“Our Worksite Health Award winners here today are the proof that it is possible for employees to squeeze health and fitness into their busy lives,” said Peter Andruszkiewicz, president & CEO for BCBSRI. “The organizations we’re recognizing are a testament to how critical worksite wellness is to the performance of their employees and ultimately their organizations. They are a testament to wellness that works.”
“This year’s Worksite Wellness Award winners have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to helping their employees improve their health and well-being,” said Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. “They have seized an important opportunity to encourage healthy habits and prevent health problem among employees and their families, which is much deserving of recognition.”
