Foundation of Advacing Catholic Education

Client Background

The client is a foundation focused on making Catholic education more affordable for families who desire a Catholic education for their child.  The foundation covers Bristol County, Massachusetts, the south coast of Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands.

 

Challenge

The Foundation was challenged with promoting the need for giving as 30% of elementary-aged students in the Diocese receive financial support for their Catholic education. While FACE awards $1,000,000 in scholarships to families of K-8 students each year, there is an increasing need and desire by families to choose Catholic education for their children, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic At the same time, the Diocese was also undergoing a fundraising initiative to renovate its Cathedral. The challenge was how to raise funds for education while simultaneously supporting the renovations of the Cathedral.

SOLUTION

A detailed plan was developed and implemented, which included the following key steps:

  • Developed a series of video interviews of students, faculty, principals, board members, and volunteers
  • Created explainer videos: several one-minute interviews; a 2:30-minute video played at the Annual Scholarship Dinner, and a 30-second commercial for social media and advertising
  • Improved communication channels more efficiently and effectively by utilizing our proven techniques for video interviews

results

The following results were achieved after the implementation:

  • The need for financial support for education continues, and fundraising using this proactive approach is necessary to support families who see the importance of Catholic education
  • The Diocese was able to raise the necessary funds to refurbish its beautiful Cathedral

Conclusion

The successful outcome of this case study demonstrates the effectiveness of cost-effective video communications. We were able to showcase the parents, faculty, and students to illustrate the importance of Catholic Education today. At the same time, we demonstrated the Cathedral’s importance to the community.
